The Day Program meets Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The structure of the program promotes the development of life and vocational skills and a sense of belonging to a community. Members and staff share the responsibility for operating the Day Program.
Members participate in one of the four work units (Clerical, Food Services, Environmental Services, and Consumer Services) and "learn by doing." Members in the Clerical unit publish a newsletter and learn computer and basic office skills. The Food Service Unit plans and prepares lunch for the program members. The Environmental Service Unit cleans areas of the building that members utilize. Members in the Consumer Services Unit operate a thrift store, laundry service, and snack bar designed for the members. The work units are organized to allow people to experience success by increasing skills and developing a sense of responsibility.
The Day Program also offers tutoring for individuals who want to obtain a GED or further their education. All members work with a staff member who assists them in developing a daily schedule and an individual service plan which establishes residential, educational, social, and/or vocational goals.
